PINK FLOYD "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" (COLUMBIA blue/black label MONO SX6157) What a record! Together with Beatles' Sgt.Pepper album and Velvet Underground's first album this is THE MOST INFLUENTIAL ALBUM of history Rock. Psychedelic, Dreaming, Acid, Superb songs like "Astronomy Domine" "The Gnome" "Lucifer Sam" "Interstellar Overdrive" and many others. For me this is the real and the only Pink Floyd sound with Syd Barrett genius inside; after .......is another story. This UK MONO Copy is absolutely a FIRST ORIGINAL pressing from 1967, on Columbia Blue/Black label with following matrix number XAX 3419-2 and XAX3420-1, and it was given me by my 58 years old uncle who bought it at the time. This is absolutely an original first issue. As regards conditions, the flipback laminated Ernest J. Day cover is in great shape, surely one of the best I ever seen. This fragile cover is usually in bad conditions, but this one has the front WITHOUT ring wear, cuts, marks or other damages, it shows only three or four minimal creases, absolutely nothing serious. Back cover is also great conditions WITOUHT ringwear or other damages, there is only the name of my uncle Ray written in the bottom right corner (very little) and a 2cm x 3cm stamp (probably of the record shop) on the top right corner; the rest of back cover is GREAT like the front. Spine is in EXCELLENT conditions with only 2cm faded on bottom, and also corners are in EXCELLENT conditions. Vinyl is in WONDERULL conditions, WITHOUT scratches, marks, or other bad signs, except for a tear on side two, this is NOT a glue tear, probably is only dirt but I DON'T HAVE a VPI Washing Machine, so I can't remove it. I also played the record on two different turntables, first on Pioneer turntable, and this tear doesn't affect the sound at all; after on HI-END PINK TRIANGLE turntable and this tear causes a "ssssh". That's the point. However if You have an HIGH-LEVEL turntable take into consideration this problem. For the rest, the vinyl is in great shape. To conclude a rare opportunity to buy ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ALBUM OF ALL TIME. Good luck!
