Description
Rare first press copy of the Pink Floyd UK Harvest LP ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’, SHVL 804, complete with all original contents, including the blue/black only one side opening gatefold sleeve. A2/B2 matrix suffixes.
Sleeve has some storage rubbing, edge, corner and ringwear and a small split to the opening edge corner at the bottom (pictured), but it is in very good structural shape, and retains strong colour. Sleeve grades VG+.
Posters have never been pinned or blu-tak applied, and seldom unfolded, judging by minimal handling evidence; original Fasprint Crackback stickers are superb, flat, never used and almost as new! Original black poly-lined inner has signs of use, creasing and handling evidence, but intact and eminently useable.
Vinyl plays extremely strongly, with very clear, loud stereo audio. There are obvious but light hairline marks and light scuffing on both sides, which do cause some light background crackle throughout, with the occasional click and light pop, both of which are obviously more evident in quiet parts. It’s not a perfect copy by any means, but plays through without jumps or sticks, and is enjoyable to listen to. Overall, the vinyl grades VG (UK grading standards adhered to).
All in all, a nice, complete and all original copy of a piece of Pink Floyd history, the very first pressing from the country of origin of a bona fide rock classic!
The record will be very well packed for safe transit, and sent insured and, where possible, tracked and signed for.
