Description

Hey Pink Floyd Fans! THIS IS THE REAL THING! We found an amazing collector's dream. You are bidding on an original UK printing / 1st original UK issued pressing of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, released on October 25th, 1969. MINT CONDITION!!!!!!! This record sleeve still has original shrink-wrap around it (it WAS still-sealed in shrink-wrap. I had to carefully open it in order to research the origin... numbered pressing, label, Matrix numbers, etc...). Again, it still has the shrink-wrap around it, but I opened the seal along the gatefold edge VERY carefully. I am only calling the gatefold picture sleeve "Near-mint" because I opened it. It has no flaws at all. Until the late seventies, record albums in Britain were never sealed in shrink wrap by either Columbia or Harvest Records. However, often times record shops would seal the records themselves upon receipt. This album was most likely sealed in 1969 by a record distributor. I have no other way for explaining it's pristine condition. Please read the following descriptions carefully:

Origin: UK. Catalog Number: SHDW 1/2 Harvest Records Ist Issue.

The outer gatefolded sleeve is NEAR-MINT++++ with NO edgewear or ANY flaws whatsoever. The cover has the black EMI / Harvest logo in the lower-left corner, and the "Gigi" album in the picture. The back of the album is the band equipment picture on the road with Richard and Roger. Upper right text is "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups" in small black print. The catalog number underneath that in white print is SHDW 1/2 (1E 054 04222)(1E 054 04223) STEREO. At the bottom-right corner in white text reads: "6911 TPS Printed in England by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London SHDW 1/2" Only the first two UK issued pressings were printed by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. Confirmed by the Pink Floyd Archives.

The original vinyl is 100% MINT, never played. As a matter of fact, they only have been exposed to fresh air or seen the light of day for about two minutes (long enough for me to carefully photograph them and write down the matrix numbers!). Matrix Numbers: SHDW 1A 2 E1/SHDW 1B 2 E1: SHDW 2A 2 E1/SHDW 2B 2 E1 . All four matrix numbers are 'stamped' on the vinyl in stamp-print. The Stamper letters and Mother numbers are also machine printed.

SEE PHOTOS of the labels!!!!!! Very Rare differences!

The labels on the vinyl: Original 1969 Yellow and Green Harvest Labels. There is NO EMI logo on the label above the Harvest logo. ONLY THE VERY FIRST UK ISSUE IS WITHOUT THE EMI LOGO ON THE LABEL! The Pink Floyd Archive confirms this research information. The top rim of each label reads: "The Gramophone Co. LTD." The upper-left section of the label (above the rectangular Harvest logo) contains the catalog number AND the album name: Ummagumma, while the bottom of the label under the song names contains the band name: "The Pink Floyd". (other later pressings have this information in reverse locations, AND label the band "Pink Floyd" instead of "The Pink Floyd".  Also, underneath the text: "Prod. by..." you can clearly see the "BIEM" UK box logo in black print. Below that on the lower rim of the label reads: "Unauthorized Public...".

ANOTHER COLLECTOR'S NOTE: There are two mis-spellings (mis-prints) in the SIDE 3 label. "Grantchester Meadows" is mis-spelled as "Grantches". Also "...Grooving with a Pict" is mis-spelled as "Pickt". SEE PHOTO!

This is an AMAZING find. It is doubtful there are many of this first UK issues around anymore, and even MORE doubtful there are any in this incredible Minty condition!!!!! An excellent find perfect for the Pink Floyd Fan / collector! Don't let this get away!
