Visual grading

This vinyl is in great condition for its age and has only a small number of very faint hairlines.  There are no scratches and it retains a lovely glossy sheen.  There is just one spindle line on S1 and only a 4/5 wispy traces on S2, this vinyl has not been played a great deal and has been very carefully handled.

Play grading

The intro on 'Shine On...' starts superbly but there is then some light crackle which soon dissipates after about 30 seconds and then plays with wonderful clarity with just some light dust ticks here and there.  Apart from the intro this classic plays as Near Mint, the playback is stunning.  There were a few light dust ticks just as the guitar begins but aside from that the audio plays with incredible depth and precision, a fantastic listen.  The fade out has barely any 'background' and the lead in to 'Welcome To The Machine' has a minimal amount of static only, nothing intrusive.  Once the track 'kicks in' the audio is superb with no interference whatsoever and even the quiet end plays with sublime quality - no static, clicks, pops etc.  Rarely have I heard this track play so 'cleanly'.

'Have A Cigar' on S2 has superb Mint quality audio right from the start, there is just no other grading for it.  There is only light static on the 'Wish You Were Here' intro but I find the early pressings always have this.  Here it is minimal and the audio still displays excellent clarity and no clicks.  Once the vocal begins the track plays with impeccable sound from thereon.  The quiet intro on 'Shine On...Part Two' again has some static but decreases considerably as the track progresses.  The louder middle section plays with perfect sound and the remainder plays very clearly and with only a touch of static here and there.

Cover

The cover is in superb shape and at first glance looks almost as new.  The edges and thin pinched spine have no shelf wear and even the corners have almost no rubbing.  The front cover is extremely clean and has only one small thumbnail type mark and very minor fading around the edges and the back is even cleaner.  Both sides have retained their 'whitesness' impeccably well and the opening edge has no handling wear to speak of.  A fantastic example of this iconic cover.

Lyric Inner & Postcard

The inner has the three cropped corners without any splits and has no marking on either side.  It is one of the cleanest I have seen in along time and has only has a few small creases around the edges.

The postcard, with serrated edges, has a tiny amount of creasing on a couple of corners and is fantastic condition.

The labels

They are very clean with barely any spindle wear.  S2 does have a faint swipe type mark on it that can only be seen at a certain angle.
