Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by Pink Floyd, A Saucerful Of Secrets.

This was released by Columbia Records in 1968 and has catalogue number SX6258. This is the 1st press with a blue/black label and is mono. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Condition:

The sleeve has several faults which are pictured for you on supersize, it looks as though a rat has chewed on the two spine corners but otherwise its not to bad with some lamination creases and one or two other minor faults. Best check the pictures, spine text fine, no discolouring and graded at Good.

The inner sleeve is certainly not the original.

Both labels are clean, under closer examination some spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows a touch of wear on both sides.

The vinyl retains its shine, when tilted to the light lots of light and hairline scratches can be seen. I gave this a play this afternoon and was surprised to find it actually played quite well. There are some quiet crackles heard in places through out both sides with the organ number on side 2 being the most effected by these crackles as this is a very quiet track. These are of course not heard at all for much of both sides with the some of the quietest moments having the most audible feckling.

There are no loud audible pops or consistant ticks heard indicating that the scratches are for the most part superficial. This plays with no major deterioation in sound quality with the music itself playing strong and clear and playing with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever and other than at its quietest moments the music is not effected by the feckling. The vinyl for this is graded at VG and is possibly a little better than a gap filler.

A nice collectable.
