TITLE: PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN

LABEL: COLUMBIA SX 6157

The Holy Grail of UK psychedelic sounds, Pink Floyd's 'Piper at the gates of Dawn'. This is an original MONO copy on the blue/black Columbia label. This has matrix numbers XEX3419-1 and XEX3420-2 and stampers side one - 1 at 9 o'clock and T at 3 o'clock and side two - 1 at 9 o'clock and GD at 3 o'clock. I think this makes it a first press copy and at least one of the earliest copies you could find.

This LP is in great condition with great mono sound. The vinyl has deep oily original gloss and in dylight looks to be near mint - however under halogen light you can some very light hairline, 'paper'-type marks. Visually this must grade EX, if not better.

The labels (see photos) are suberb - clean and unmarked - really nice condition! The record has the K,T tax codes.

The cover is great as well. (see photos) The cover is flat, sharp with no edge wear or nasty creasing. There is very minimal corner wear and a few small creases along the edge. The spine is totally straight and readable - as new. The flipbacks are all intact and uncreased. The unlaminated back of the E.J.Day cover is very clean - none of the discolouration you usually find. This LP comes complete with the original sepia EMI advertising inner sleeve which also in excellent condition.
