THE P.K.S. PUBLISHING PREVIEW (no label PKS-1/197?)
Beyond incredibly rare demo disc (count the number of known copies on one hand and have your thumb and two fingers left over) from the streets of New York featuring unknown composers and performers. My review in The Acid Archives (for which this copy was used) describes this best:
P. K. S. Is one Peter K. Siegel, a minor player in the NYC music scene in the 60's & 70's. This is apparently a demo for songs that Siegel held publishing rights to. Information is sparse; there are song titles only. There is no indication of writers (or if Siegel was the writer) or performing artists.
The sounds are 70's singer-songwriter throughout, as exemplified by the opener, a Jackson Brown-like country rocker. Stand-outs are the female vocal lyrical crack-up “Thank Your Lucky Stars” and the country lament “I’m Never Gonna Stick It In Again”, which sounds like a long-lost Peter Grudzien epic, especially during the echoey spoken section. (P. G. Says it’s not him, but maybe it’s his clone.)
All songs have basic instrumentation - guitars, pianos; some have bass and drums. There are a couple of solos as well as a couple of blasts of fuzz. There is a split between male and female vocalists with occasional backing singers. With the exception of the Grudzienesque singer, it sounds like there could be only one male and one female singer.
The cover is VG+ (small sticker stain in upper right corner; very light ringwear on each side; wear on spine; 1/4" split on bottom seam at opening).
The record is Mint minus.

GENERAL INFO
SHIPPING: Shipping costs will be quoted based on cost for estimated weight plus $1.00 to cover most of the cost of packing materials.
All records are packed in in between two cardboard filler pads and shipped in professional cardboard mailing boxes. All unsealed 12" records are taken out of their covers to prevent seam splitting. If there is a custom inner sleeve, the record will be put in a separate white inner. If a 7" record comes in a picture sleeve, the same procedure is followed.
GRADING: I grade records both visually and audibly. As grading is so imprecise and subjective, I don't have a set grading description like you see listed in many auction and collector magazines. My grades for records and covers are based on the overall conditions I describe in each auction; I will note any visual defects and (for the vinyl) any non-musical sounds (pops, clicks, skips, etc.).
