Bedazzling blond rocker Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) spent lockdown in the English countryside assembling a new ensemble around vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown. Over six years, they recorded Saving Grace in the Cotswolds and on the Welsh Borders, marking Plant's first album with this lineup. The record draws on songs by Memphis Minnie, Blind Willie Johnson, Bob Mosley, The Low Anthem, Martha Scanlan, Sarah Siskind, and Low, including their reinterpretation of Low's 'Everybody's Song'; the record is a thorough recapitulation of the style of the Great American songbook, revamped to form a suite of original "(songs) of the lost and found". With Plant's co-productive hand guiding the playhead, a US tour is apt to follow its release, spanning a dozen North American dates, while Plant continues his Digging Deep podcast, revisiting the 1958 track 'Bluebirds Over the Mountain' and his 2017 version with Chrissie Hynde.
