Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. RARE and sought-after collectible from 49 years ago; one of the great '69 era underground blues boom jams from the British underground...
ADVANCED RELEASED PROMOTIONAL
If it's the loud, powerful heavy fuzzed blues sound that you crave, you'll dig the KILLING FLOORS first Lp.
Original London '69 printed inner sleeve IS included!
More in the cult of the rock-blues white vein that's so successful, and this team have the power to pull something off. Not too strong on the originality stakes, but their workouts of songs are quite good in their superb heavy blues offering, including a stomping version of 'Woman You Need Love' [appropriated by Led Zeppelin and transformed into 'Whole Lotta Love']
The sheer toughness -- and overall derivative -- nature of Killing Floor's debut album, issued six months after Led Zeppelin's debut in 1969 on the Sire label, is a wondrous contrast to the overly slick treatment American Blues were given by British artists. All of these tunes, with the exception of one, are revamped versions of songs from the blues canon with different words. The lone "cover" in the set is "Woman You Need Love," the tune Zep ripped for "Whole Lotta Love." By supporting groups like Ten Years After and Jethro Tull, on tour this band received some attention and notoriety, nothing like the bands that they opened for, but they did make a name for themselves. This self-titled debut burns with the red-hot coals of emotion only found in righteous blues music. All but one of these tracks is an original, which proves that they were talented enough to hold their own. Singer and harp player Bill Thorndycraft had a gruff deep down-from-the-belly vocal style, similar to Alvin Lee, and he could blow the harp to give the music that earthy blues feeling that could be found in all the Mississippi Delta blues gone electrified. Michael Clark was an exceptional six-string slinger that had a fire burning in his belly; you could hear it in his playing, and the rhythm section of Bas Smith (drums) and Stuart MacDonald (bass) was steadfast and true in support of his fire branded flourishes. Lou Martin dditional elements of keyboards to give their music more texture and a modern updated sound. This is an excellent album for a debut, and they clearly broke some ground like their counterparts the Groundhogs did during the same time frame. This LP has an unfailing flow and liveliness that never lets up; its all mighty blues-rock played with heart and soul.

The vinyl: is all glossy and clean all over M- ...smooth and clear grooves all the way, so play grade is minty clean and enjoyable. Both London records labels are perfect (no wear)
