We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. This, the PRETTY THINGS first album, British R&B played with swagger and attitude. Think early Stones but with potentially more personality. This and the Who's My Generation are two of our favorites because both are played with such unabashed-abandon. The sense of aggression and good times comes thru in the grooves.
Their overall foundation for impressiveness within this album should be recognized 100% classic in the year of 1965!
In the mid-60s is was fashionable to be the wildest band of the planet. When the Pretties arrived, they were presented as wilder than The Rolling Stones. Phil May's voice has got the power and toughness (he shouts to be a real bad boy) of Mick Jagger, Van Morrison and Eric Burdon.
The Pretty Things first producer, Jack Beverstock said when he first met them: "I'm not staying down there with this bunch of animals!". The band had been presented to him as: "Five unruly youths with a passion for rhythm, blues and random acts of senseless mayhem".
We can understand he could be powerless in taming the guys!
Now the music is the similar rhythm n'blues made by the Stones, Them, Kinks etc. And it's quite interesting...

CONDITION: The cover: is all around solid , the laminated UK cover is rated VG++ has really only light shelf wear to top seam, with back cover having only a very little thin strip - tiny bit of discoloration at same very top seam (see photo #2 for that ans see how small it is.) Otherwise the front & back are very strong, especially when talking a 54 years ago original teen-scene "monster" = see photo. There are no delete marks, this album went over virtually everyone's heads in America (head shaking in the '60s non-promotion of the band in the States.) There are no bends no seam splits and no writing ... not misused and provides for a great rare collectible.
The vinyl: Rated: both sides retain the original glossy luster::: rated "EX" (excellent) and played here with joyfully M- audio when just tested here... the deep groove pressing from 1965 without dreaded groove wear from old ceramic '60s cartridges... and finally has clean UK -mono- Fontana labels on both sides.
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
