American glam and hair metal band Poison formed nearly FORTY years ago, in 1983. By 1986, the debut album was released on the tiny Enigma Records label. It wasn't supposed to do very well, but it ended up selling over three million copies, and put Poison on the map! By album number two, titled 'Open Up and Say...Ahh!', the band became huge, and their videos were in heavy rotation on MTV, and the songs were playing frequently on every rock station in existence!

In today's sweet and rockin' good deal, you'll get copies of BOTH the first and second Poison albums, and on special, limited edition picture disc LPs! The first release, 'Look What the Cat Dragged In', was issued on picture disc in 2016. To celibrate the THIRTY year anniversary! It's really nice, and the A side is that original album's cover. (You know, where the guys like like girls! 80s glam...what were they thinking? Lol But grunge thanks you!) The B side is the song titles and credits. And a glammed out band pic!

The sophomore release, 'Open Up and Say...Ahh' had its original cover banned by most major retailers (such as Sears and Walmart). They said the model was too demonic, so the new cover only showed her eyes. Seems pretty tame by today's standards! The original cover was released as a picture disc LP, and the A side is the original artwork. The B side is song titles and credits, and shows the (eyes only) artwork that future copies had. This comes with its orginal backing card that has song titles and credits on the front, as well as band pic, and song lyrics on the back. Backing card looking nice, with no rips or tears, pinholes, or handwriting anywhere on it! A really pair of Poison collectibles, and at a really nice price!

The debut album is a reissue, released in 2016. Bought new, by me, and never played. The vinyl looks all shiny and clean! This comes in its original PVC jacket with hype sticker. Issued officially, by Capitol Records, who distributed Enigma, as well as Hollywood Records. The second album is the original 1988 release on Enigma. The vinyl looks pretty good, with a few light surface marks on both sides. Nothing too bad, but they're there. I also cannot vouch for the sound quality, as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. And these early pic discs from the 70s and 80s usually sound pretty bad, with lots of surface noise. The debut album should sound great though, as they've worked the bugs out, for the most part, on modern pic discs. The second album comes with a backing card that is still intact, and still looking great. No rips or tears, pinholes, or handwriting, anywhere on it!
