Very rare UK album by the Pretty Things. Original glossy gatefold cover on pre-EMI Harvest label. A wonderful copy, with minimal defects, even the original advertising inner sleeve is in great shape.

Parachute, released in 1970, is the fifth studio album by the English rock band The Pretty Things, following S.F. Sorrow and preceding Freeway Madness. It is their first album without guitarist Dick Taylor.

Reviews at the time of release were very positive, with Billboard calling it "another top-flight album" for the band. In 1975, Rolling Stone critic Steve Turner even wrote that it had been "a Rolling Stone 'album of the year'," though in fact Parachute did not place among the magazine's Albums of the Year for 1970 or 1971, and indeed was not mentioned in Rolling Stone until Stephen Holden called it an "obscure underground classic" in his review of Freeway Madness.

The musicians involved were Phil May, Wally Waller, John Povey, Vic Unitt, Skip Alan.

CONDITIONS: m-/ex+ from strict Record Collector grading (cover graded first) Cover is really nice and clean, exactly as it is depicted in the photos, totally nice, I can hardly see any real defect except for some absolutely minimal age wear (please note that the light lines on the left and to the right of the flower on front cover is my shadow; the cover is glossy and difficult to photograph.) Disc is absolutely beautiful full ex+, plays great, bright and clean. Under direct sunlight you can see only some very vert faint sleeve removal marks and maybe one or two hairlines on side 1. Full ex+ or MINT-, wonderful speciman!
