Here in one place is the best work this underrated band ever did, both the 1969 concept album/rock opera "S.F. Sorrow" that was a major influence on The Who's "Tommy" (but resembles Quadrophenia even more)...as well as their beautiful 1970 "Parachute" that carried their new-won sophistication even further.
On Discogs a punter writes that this particular package uses the original UK lacquers for the best possible sound, and many commenters seem to agree, repeating many times over that this pressing is the way to hear both of these great albums. I can't compare with later pressings or the OG ones, having never owned any but this, but I'm almost reconsidering selling it now after reading all that.
Anyway a beautiful band at its utter unexpected peak (since before this breakthrough they were doing (great) garage rock like "Roslyn" which David Bowie covered on "Pinups").
S.F. Sorrow disc is NM, Parachute album is VG+. Overall then, NM- and the gatefold sleeve is a VG+.
