This is a wonderful boxed set containing the greatest tracks and greatest recording artists on the Atlantic record label  from the 1940s to the 1970s - musical history in the making. That includes Artehta Franklin, Ben E King, Roberta Flack, Ray Charles, Booker T and the MGs, Brook Benton, the Drifters, Coasters, Otis Redding and Rufus Thomas. Tracks include Eddie Floyd's Knock on Wood, Otis - Dock of the Bay and Try a Little Tenderness, Aretha - Respect and Don't Play that Song, Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Killing Me Softly, Donny Hathaway - The Ghetto (brilliant), Clarence Carter's Patches, Ray Charles - What'd I Say, Ben E King - Spanish Harlem and Stand by Me, Booker T - Green Onions, Drifters - Under the Boardwalk and Up on the Roof (they just couldn't make up their minds), Rufus Thomas - Walkin' the Dog, Percy Sledge - When a Man Loves a Woman.
