PRINCE FAR I - UNDER HEAVY MANNERS Joe Gibbs LP
Killer and unique DJ LP from the late "voice of thunder" Prince Far I.
This is an original JA release with the short uncredited extra track at the end which was not included on subsequent issues of this record.
Both cover and record are in surprisingly excellent condition for an original Jamaican pressing but it is a Jamaican pressing nonetheless and it has what I can best describe as a splattery haze in the vinyl towards the centre and in the deadwax. This makes it very difficult to read the matrixes - but I can just make out a light "DSR 2913 A" on side 1 and an even lighter and barely visible "DSR 2914" and what looks like a "D" not a "B" on side 2.
RECORD - EX No scratches and very few surface marks but it has some scattered pressing dimples typical of a Jamaican pressing and the splattered haze in the vinyl referred to above. It plays with what I can best describe as a "whooomfy" sound on the run-in groove and between the early tracks on each side but the tracks themselves play loud and clear with little audible background crackle and hardly any ticks or pops.
LABELS - ? I am not sure how to grade the labels - please see the pictures.
COVER - EX Solid spine. Light wear on seams. The outer layer on the bottom seam is just beginning to crack but the seam is not split. Light corner ding bottom right. There is a small patch of discoloration in the middle of the back cover (see picture) but it looks as though it may be in the cardstock used. Lightest creasing. No stickers or writing. Beautiful!
GRADING SCALE: NM/EX/VG/G(+/-) visual grading - not play tested unless specifically indicated above. NM is near mint not mint - I do not use M except for an unplayed record.
