GETT OFF (damn near 10 mins mix) Rare 12" promo
On his birthday June 7th 1991, Prince had copies of the original "Gett Off" (Damn near 10 mins version) pressed and sent to club and radio jocks, creating (in effect) his own bootleg recording , and more importantly creating a buzz for the new album "Diamonds & Pearls". Limited copies (200-500) of this promo were made and at the time obtaining a mint copy now if unheard of.
This is a single sided 12" promo with the sleeve design hand drawn by Prince and similar in style to the "1999" cover.
About a month later no less than 18 different official mixes of this track was recorded and released in one form or another.
Many believe this is THE definitive version of Gett Off, being much rawer than any of the later polished versions. The guitar work alone on this makes it a classic recording. Coupled with its rarity, then this is truly one of the top 5 Prince Collectables of all time.
Although this version has been copied onto some bootleg CDs over the years, no one has ever ripped a clear copy of this record, revealing its true greatness. This auction is for a SEALED copy.
