Description
The Melton Brothers Band : Livin' in the City (MDM Communications original US pressing from 1979. Great soul / funk LP from Delaware, recorded in 1978 and privately pressed on MDM Communications. Two awesome tracks include: "Livin In The City" with the soulful vocals of Alfie Moss, and the Drum Break heavy funk cut "I'll Take You There". This is the rare first pressing color sleeve issue, only 250 were ever made. This same LP was later issued with a black & white sleeve and saw a larger print run. This album was documented extensively in an early issue of 'Wax Poetics' magazine.
Disc is clean and glossy with some light scuffs and a few light scratches. On side two, there's a sound right after "Sail Away's" opening drum fill that sounds like a cabaca (a latin percussion instrument). I honestly can't tell whether that noise is actually an instrument or surface noise. Other than that, the disc plays extremely well, with an occasional tick that doesn't ruin one's pleasure of the music.
Cover is clean with no seam splits, just some light discoloration in the lower left hand corner of the from cover. The small insert has a crease, but no tears.
