"Promises, Promises" opened in London at The Prince of Wales Theatre on October 2nd (1970) following a smash hit on Broadway. It is the first musical written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David following a ten-year string of hit songs. The story is based on the Billy Wilder film "The Apartment", starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. On this record the two leading roles are sung by the lovely Aimi MacDonald ('At Last the 1948 Show") and recording star Ronnie Carroll. Also heard singing on this record are Daphne Bonnet, Lissa Gray, Christine Parker, Patricia Whitmore, Frank Holmes, Fergus O'Kelly, Eddie Lester and Charles Young. Includes the great hit "I'll Never Fall In Love Again".
