Description
PSYCH LP MONO West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band 1A/1A! STUNNING!
This copy is an original 1967 release, as opposed to the 50th anniversary release on orange vinyl. This is their second album, not one of the easier psych LP’s to ever find in mono, as a quick search on eBay will attest.
Props to them for trying to cover Frank Zappa’s “Help, I’m a Rock” less than a year after The Mothers released it. Nobody even bothered to cover that one again until 1995!
Vinyl--- Each side is a strong VG++. Each side has only a couple very light stray hairlines. Each side looks nearly 1967 brand new.
Plates--- 1A/ 1A. There is NO doubt, this is a first-day issue from February, 1967.
Cover--- Muscular and strong, stunning gorgeous. VERY little ringwear, no dirtwear. NO SPLITS. Corners have light bumps, and I do mean light ones. Had there not been a name penned lightly on the upper right back corner, I’d have graded this cover VG++.
Labels--- Nearly perfect, apart from a few extremely light spindle marks.
Inner Sleeve--- Warner/Reprise inner sleeve is present. Bottom seam has a center split about 4 inches. A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to further damage the Reprise inner sleeve.
This is absolutely the best mono copy of this LP I’ve ever seen. My play copy is a strong VG, so I am now willing to put this one into the hands of a collector who knows what it is, and will appreciate it.
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
