PTARMIGAN s/t original Canadian cosmic folk psych lp M-

1973/Cdn/Columbia ES90257…… here's a super clean original pressing of this rare Canadian folk/psych lp, the cover is in solid clean strong Excellent condition, slightest of shelf wear and a tiny scrape on the left edge, virtually no wear, no splits, delete, or other issues. The vinyl is in strong Excellent condition, Side one is clean with a couple of light inaudible sleevelines, side two has a very light thin inaudible mark across the first track, near the end of the side there is a very very light hairline scratch which causes the occasional light tick buried in the background, the record plays clean with light minor noise occasionaly due to the nature of some very quiet parts, nothing disturbing at all and plays with nice fidelity. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. A clean original pressing of this dreamy cosmic monster! Please check my auctions for other psych, folk and rock lp's, good luck and thanks for looking!

Ptarmigan was a very unusual & noncommercial music that was ahead of its time. The ethereal ambience of Nordstrom & Dias' compositions continue to impress a wide spectrum of people. Sometimes it is free-flowing and jazz-oriented; at other times it has the mystical feel of a shamanistic ceremony, with its oriental or South American harmonies. But in the end, this album is about the sea—Ptarmigan was, after all, from Vancouver Island, and the musicians were well-versed in the contradictory moods of the surrounding ocean. One of those hidden gems from the 70’s that make life better when you discover them all these years later, rated by many as the best “folk/progressive” and/or “folk/psych” album ever made. As one contemporary review said, this is “music from musicians, for musicians, late-at-night, last joint music.”

MINT: as stated with no defects

M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.

AIR POSTAGE TO USA IS $10 ...OR $8 SURFACE IF THE PACKAGE WEIGHS LESS THAN 500 GRAMS(one regular weight pressing).........USA AIR POSTAGE FROM 500 GRAMS TO 1 KILO IS $15 AND SURFACE MAIL IS $12(usually 1-3 lp’s depending on individual weight), I can also send heavier packages to the USA by expedited surface mail, this option includes a tracking number and free insurance up to $100 for $15 to $20 depending on weight, insurance over $100 is $1.00 for each additional hundred dollars.

INTERNATIONAL AIR POSTAGE(depending on destination) UNDER 500 grams is $17 to $20(one regular weight lp), OVER 500 grams is $30 to $36(usually up to 3 lp’s depending on individual weight), SURFACE MAIL IS AVAILABLE OVERSEAS for  $12(500 grams) $15 (500 - 1000 g),OVERSEAS AIR POSTAGE BETWEEN 1000g AND 2000g (usually between 3 and 6 lp’s depending on individual weight) is $49 to $55.
