Commercial Zone ist ein Album mit Studioaufnahmen, die 1984 vom Gitarristen Keith Levene veröffentlicht wurden. Levene nahm die Master-Bänder ohne Zustimmung von John Lydon oder dem Rest von PIL an sich, nachdem sich Keith Levene von Public Image Ltd. getrennt hatte. Levene entschied sich, eine private Pressung von einigen Tausenden zu machen, während PIL noch über die Freigabe verhandelte. Levene dachte, er hätte genauso viele Rechte daran wie der Rest der Band. Nach einer Weile machte die Lydon-Seite der Band einen Deal mit Important Records (Relativity), um die Aufnahmen mit einem schwarzen Cover zu veröffentlichen, das viel häufiger ist. Levene erhielt bald einen Unterlassungsklage von PILs neuem Plattenlabel auf Einstellung des Verkaufs des Albums mit dem weissen Lochcover.
Commercial Zone is an album with studio recordings released in 1984 by guitarist Keith Levene. Levene took the master tapes without the consent of John Lydon or the rest of PIL after Keith Levene separated from Public Image Ltd., Levene decided to make a private pressing of several thousands, while PIL was still negotiating the release. Levene thought he had the rights to it as the rest of the band. After a while, the band's Lydon side made a deal with Important Records (Relativity) to release the recordings with a more common black cover. Levene soon received an injunction from PIL's new record label to stop selling the album with the white die-cut cover.
