Description
Auction for the original first pressing of Different Class by Pulp. This limited edition LP comes with 6 double-sided inserts so you can, as the sticker in the top left corner suggests, “choose your own front cover” from 12 different shots.
I bought this album during the first week of release in October 1995 and it has been well-looked after.
The vinyl has some surface marks and the sleeve has some small creases here and there (zoom in for a better look) but all in all, it is in excellent condition for a 19-year old record that was played several times back in the day by its one careful owner.
Incidentally, the LP still has the postcard that you can post for more information on the band and it states to fill in your name, address and “internet”, which I take to mean email address.
I follow Record Collector's system of grading records and would grade this album as 'excellent'.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING Mint = The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Excellent = The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good = The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good = The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc. Fair = The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor = The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
JUST A NOTE ON POSTAGE AND PAYMENT... See "Payment Instructions" for details on payment. All vinyl is posted out in purpose-designed card envelopes and stiffener. Goods will be promptly sent by Collect +/Yodel which a trackable postage method and takes about 3 days. I would rather send the LP by a trackable method for peace of mind. I would hate for it to get lost in the post after spending the past 19 years safely stored in a record box.
