"PULP FICTION" BRAND NEW factory sealed 1994 U.S LP soundtrack edition of the classic Quentin Tarantino film (MCA) MCA-11103. MINT/MINT. Original vinyl issue featuring great Surf, R&B & Rock oldies from the 1950s thru the 1970s.
The soundtracks to Quentin Tarantino films are always as entertaining as the action on the screen & the music from 1994's “Pulp Fiction” is no exception. In his breakthrough film, Tarantino tackled the genre of B-films from the 1970s & brought it up to date with his signature style. But “Pulp Fiction” is also a solid action-packed thriller that resurrected the career of John Travolta while also starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Harvey Keitel & Uma Thurman. The music consists of semi-forgotten Surf, Soul & Rock records from the 50s thru the 70s that sound great within this context. Standouts are “Miserlou” by Dick Dale & His Deltones & “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon” written by Neil Diamond but performed almost note-for-note by erst-while hard rockers Urge Overkill. Other strong tracks are “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green, Chuck Berry's “You Never Can Tell” & “Son Of A Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield. There are also some great Surf obscurities such as the Centurion’s “Bullwinkle, Part 2”, “Comanche” by the Revels & the Lively Ones' “Surf Rider”. There’s even tracks by the Statler Brothers & Alternative Country artist Maria McKee. To give the album an authentic feel, snippets of pithy film dialogue are interspersed between the music tracks. All in all, a great soundtrack to a great movie with original 1994 vinyl pressings very hard to find.
