This is a sealed Premium HQ-180 gram Classic Records reissue of New World Records NW 319: PULSE Works for Percussion and Strings, originally released in 1984. It features works John Cage, Henry Cowell, Ruth Crawford Seeger and Lou Harrison performed by the Consort Members - Joseph Grable, Claire Heldrich, Mark Rendon, Madeleine Shapiro, William Trigg, Evan Paris, Lois Martin, Kory Grossman, Terri Weber, Aleck Karis, and Linda Quan. 

This is the last one in our collection! Recently discovered after we thought this title was long gone!

About the Consort: The New Music Consort, directed by Claire Heldrich and Madeleine Shapiro, was formed in 1975. It is dedicated to performing twentieth-centruy music and nurturing young composers through commissions and premieres. The Consort has performed over 300 works of all genres, 35 of which were written for the ensemble. The Consort gives an annual series of concerts at Carnegie Recital Hall under the auspices of the Carnegie Hall Corporation. The Consort has also received five touring grants from the National Endowment for the Arts to help present contemporary repertoire across the country. (The NEA further honored the ensemble with a special award for outstanding professional arts organization.) The Consort was also chosen to participate in the First New Music Network tour, sponsored by the New York State Council on the Arts. Other distinctions include a Nonesuch-Warner Communications commision as well as three recording grants from the NEA. The New Music Consort has held the chair of Johnson Distinguished Visiting Professor at Middlebury College in Vermont and is currently the ensemble-in-residence at Work College, C.U.N.Y.
