Description
This is a MEGA rare punk 7" single pressed in 1979 - The Spitfire Boys - Funtime / Transcendal Changing
This outfit were the first EVER Liverpool punk band to release a single ("British Refugee" c/w "Mein Kampf")
They were notable for the drummer Peter Clarke (The Slits and later Siouxie and the Banshees - as well as marrying Siouxsie of the Banshees)
as well as Paul Rutherford (Frankie goes to hollywood) and David Littler (who went on to join The Photons, which also included Steve Strange
(Visage) and Vince Ely (The Psychedelic Furs).
they pressed just the one single under the original line-up but in '79 Littler's new outfit pressed 1,000 copies of this one, borrowing
members of Cardiff outfit The Nylonz..at the time
On the Immaculate label (based in Neville St, Cardiff according to the sleeve)
Ref SRTS/79/CUS 481
Record is Nr Mint - a finer copy will not exist
Sleeve is an easy EX+
This is unlikely to come up for auction in this sort of condition ever again - You are more likely to find a unicorn with a tattoo , this comes from a
Cardiff based guy who knew the band at the time.
Please note - P&P stated is based on UK prices for recorded.
Please ask for overseas postage as there are some countries I can't post to
