Super rare DEMO version of the musical Purlie with music by Gary Geld and lyrics by Peter Udell.
These recordings feature a small band ensemble performing demo versions of eight of the songs featured in the musical. They have a much more raw, soulful, almost gospel sound and differ from the versions on the later soundtrack released on AMPEX. No credits are listed for performers.
