DETAILS: Australian “Limited Edition” (1,000) pressing – Sundown ‘white A’ Label # Sun 0106
GENRE : Punk – New Wave
YEAR : 1984
INFO : The only single from Brisbane punkers The Parameters, recorded in late 1983 and independently released and now very rare with only 1000 copies issued. For those not around at the time the lead track here has a crack at the corrupt and authoritative aspects within the current Qld government (Joh & Co.) and in particular the state police force during the early 1980s. Issues raised within the song included banning of street marches, persecution of aborigines, ministerial and government corruption, illegal bookmaking, police harassment and Special Branch surveillance … sound familiar?
There’s a terrific Super8 clip on youtube worth checking out.
The B-side grooves along more innocently and is worth a spin or two.
CONDITION: Note : All records (except where Mint) have been vacuum-machine cleaned and fully played on a quality system to determine an accurate grading.
This item will be safely packed and includes a new outer plastic cover.
· Vinyl : Very Good. Some light marks on both sides of no audible concern. Visually it still retains heaps of gloss which is reflected in the bright and clear playback of both tracks. A little and not unexpected lead-in noise (very minor) until the band kicks in … after that it is a great clean sound throughout.
· Labels : Clean as per photos above.
· Sleeve : This original accompanying DIY poster sleeve is very difficult to find and features artwork on both sides plus lyrics (see pics)
Some expectant creasing. No pin-holes. A name and phone number in black pen. Some edge-wear and small splits though overall I would think this is good as it ever gets for this very rare piece.
The paper Sundown company sleeve is in excellent condition. A touch of age discolouration only.
