Thinking back this is probably the rarest LP we've listed in almost nine years on ebay, and one of the rarest records ever released !  Thought to be the first issue on the Aladdin label, this is the black vinyl issue of "Party after hours". The supposedly rarer red vinyl issue has cropped up a few times in the past, I don't think this issue has ever been offered on ebay. The red vinyl copies were of a poorer sound quality, but have fetched well over $4,000 in the past, even one with no cover fetched over $400.

The pictures below are of the item itself, you'll notice there is some old tape along the vertical spine, without removing it it is hard to tell if it was split at all or there for protection, I can see that it certainly wasn't split all the way, it looks like there may have been a central split of an inch or so. Both the other seams are worn but completely intact. There's some overall wear to the cover, there's a little bit of fading to the track listings and what looks like a small old sticker mark top left on the "P" of "party". There's a light crease bottom left too.The rear blank cover shows similar overall soiling and three tiny pen marks.

As you can see below the labels are both pretty clean.

The vinyl itself has quite a few marks, which don't show on the photos. I've played it through, though only on a totally unsuitable dj deck with a very light needle. There was the hint of a small skip on Itty Bitty Girl Pt.1, the rest of the album played consistantly throughout. I'm sure with a suitably heavy needle the whole album will play fine, (may just need a careful clean). 

It does have background hiss throughout, and quite a few pops and crackle in places. It has plenty of life left in it though, still has some of its' lustre, and looks very good on first inspection. As we all know audio clips can be enhanced and visual grading is very subjective, so if you want to hear this item, I'll gladly play it for you over the phone.
