Description

Another one in a handful of great Martino albums. It’s no Baiyana, or Live! But those are special in their own sense. Baiyana is exploratory (eastern music) and for Live! (Maybe another album or two of his) he gets members of the band Catalyst to record for them. And they are out of this world.


That’s not to take anything away from Billy Higgins or Richard Davis, who are arguably both top 5 jazzmen at their respective instruments. Conversations like this just tell me one thing… Pat Martino is excellent. As a guitar player and composer / band leader.
