Description

Live in Concert - The Pat Metheny Group (Promotional Radio Station Copy — Not Released to Public)

Rare Promo-Only LP — Never Commercially Released

Up for auction is a rare promotional copy of Live in Concert by The Pat Metheny Group. This LP was sent to radio stations for broadcast purposes and was never made available for public purchase. A true rarity for serious Pat Metheny collectors and jazz fusion enthusiasts.

About this recording: This album captures The Pat Metheny Group live in concert at two legendary West Coast venues: the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on August 31, 1977, and the Seattle Opera House on September 4, 1977. These performances document the group in their early days, showcasing the innovative sound that would soon make Metheny one of the most influential guitarists in contemporary jazz.

Condition:

  • Cover: Good to Very Good — Some visible scuffing is present on the sleeve. Please review the photos carefully.
  • Vinyl: Very Good — No visible scratches on the disc. However, from my memory of playing this years ago, there was some slight popping audible in the opening section of the first song. I have not played it recently to confirm, so please factor this into your assessment. The rest of the album played well as I recall.

A bit about me: I'm not a dealer or collector—just someone clearing out things I've accumulated over the years. I honestly don't remember how this came into my possession, but it's been part of my collection for decades. Stored upright in a smoke-free, climate-controlled home.

Please note: This is a promotional item with the condition issues described above. I've tried to be as accurate and transparent as possible. Please review all photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions before bidding.

Ships securely in a sturdy LP mailer within 2 business days of payment. US shipping only (or contact me for international quotes).
