Description

You are bidding on an a strictly limited edition vinyl copy of the eighth installment of the Songs For Slim series, where artists pay tribute to Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap by covering his songs. This 45 leads off with one of Slim's brightest gems, "Hate This Town," covered by Patterson Hood of theDrive-By Truckers, alongside his Downtown Rumblers, which consist of DBT band mates Brad Morgan and Jay Gonzales, Jacob Morris on cello and long-time DBT producer/partner-in-crime David Barbe on bass. On the flip side is a spot-on offering from Seattle's alternative pop-rock pioneers The Young Fresh Fellows. They tackle Slim's "Loud Loud Loud Loud Guitars," which was originally released on 1986's Twin/Tone release Big Hits of Mid America Volume IV.
This record will be limited to 100 numbered copies, signed by Patterson Hood & The Downtown Rumblers and The Young Fresh Fellows. Like all SFS releases, it features original Chris Mars artwork on the cover. Each release includes a digital download card for both songs and all proceeds go to to The Slim Dunlap Recovery Fund (details below). This auction will run August 15-22. Shipping cost includes $5 handling fee to offset production expenses.
