Description
Paul Chambers - Bass On Top
Blue Note BLP 1569
Original 1957 Mono 1st pressing
47 West 63rd NYC Deep Groove labels with no "R" or Inc.
RVG & Plastylite P or "Ear" in runout
Back cover also has the 47 West 63rd address
Condition:
VG-/VG-
Vinyl: Could be considered VG but I don't want to over grade it. Retains some of its original gloss but has lots of scuffs and scratches. It plays fairly quiet throughout but some of the scratches do cause some pops and repeated clicks. Plays through without skipping. Still an enjoyable listen.
Cover: 1" seam split at top opening and 1" seam split on the spine in the center. Small amount of the laminate has started to peel off on the top at the opening. Staining on the back at the bottom and someone's initials written in pen at the top. Small amount of chipping. Aside from the 2 seam splits, you should be able to see everything in the pictures.
Record grading based on Goldmine Grading System:
Mint (M): Pristine. Looks as if it just came off the manufacturing line.
Near Mint (NM)/Mint Minus (M-): Looks as if it just came from a store and was opened for the first time. All original pieces are present.
Very Good Plus (VG+)/Excellent Plus (E+): Shows slight signs of wear. Light scuffs or scratches may be present, but they don't affect playback.
Very Good (VG): Obvious wear and handling, including visible groove wear, surface noise, audible scratches, ring wear and small seam splits.
Very Good Minus (VG-)/Good Plus (G+): Significant wear and handling, including significant surface noise, groove wear, ring wear, damaged or defaced labels or covers and seam splits.
Poor (P) or Fair (F): Beat, trashed and dull. Won't play through; areas that do play contain noticeable scratches and surface noise. Records may be missing sleeves or covers.
