Description

Up for Auction is a truly beautiful piece: The Paul Chambers Sextet - Whims Of Chambers - Blue Note 1534 - deep groove - 767 Lexington Ave. edition. Musicians: Donald Byrd trumpet, John Coltrane tenor sax, Kenny Burrell guitar, Horace Silver piano, Paul Chambers bass, Philly Joe Jones drums.

This rare album’s condition is: Side A: VG, There are very very minor tiny surface scuffs. Side B: VG. There is a very light 2 inch surface scuff on Side B which does not effect play at all. It is not ’in’ the grooves, only on top, and does not look deep at all. I have included a picture of this scuff, which is seen to the left of the light's glare on the grooves. There are minimal center hole marks on the label, indicating it has not been played more than a dozen times or so. There are faint indentations on the vinyl of the sleeve being rubbed onto it over the years, merely a surface blemish. Overall, it looks as though this album has been taken good care of. The cover is VG+. No splits on spines! Very little ring wear. Some of the color on the bottom spine has flaked off. The original white inner sleeve is present. This pressing books for $700 in mint condition in Goldmine Record Magazine’s 2004 Jazz Record Guide. This album is nearly impossible to find in this rare version and good condition. High bidder pays $5.00 postage, international postage will vary. Pay by pay pal, check, and money order.
