I HAVE JUST ACQUIRED A SMALL COLLECTION OF A DOZEN OR SO ROCK N ROLL LP's INCL JOHNNY BURNETTE , JERRY LEE LEWIS , FATS DOMINO , LITTLE RICHARD , THE CHAMPS , THE CHANTAYS AND EDDIE COCHRAN , I WILL BE LISTING ALL OVER THE NEXT WEEK OR SO AND I MUST SAY THIS REALLY IS A VERY NICE COLLECTION .
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RECORD HAS BEEN VACUUM CLEANED ON BOTH SIDES USING MY PROJECT PRO CLEANING MACHINE THANK YOU .
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL RECORDS , CD's , CASSETTES AND DVD's ARE FULLY PLAY TESTED FROM START TO FINISH INCLUDING ALL SIDES FOR ALL DOUBLE AND TRIPLE ALBUMS AND BOX SETS THANK YOU .
ALL RECORDS ARE FULLY PLAY TESTED ON MY TRUSTY AIWA TURNTABLE AND GOOD QUALITY JVC AMP . THIS DOES ONLY HAVE A STD BASS AND TREBLE CONTROL WHICH I HAVE SET ON A HIGH " TINNY " SETTING . I LIKE TO SET IT LIKE THIS AS IT PICKS UP EVEN THE VERY SLIGHTEST BIT OF NOISE SO I KNOW I CAN DESCRIBE EVERY LP CORRECTLY ETC . I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT PLAYED ON BETTER OR TOP QUALITY SYSTEMS WITH GREATER AND MORE TECHNICAL SOUND CONTROL ETC , THESE RECORDS WILL SOUND A LOT BETTER THAN I HAVE DESCRIBED . I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I OFTEN GIVE RECORDS ANOTHER QUICK PLAY ON THE FIRST COUPLE OF TRACKS ON MY PERSONAL TOP QUALITY PIONEER SYSTEM AND I DO FIND THAT MOST OF ANY NOISES LIKE CRACKLE ETC ARE MUCH MUCH QUIETER , SOME EVEN HARDLY SOUND AT ALL . I TEST EVERY RECORD AND FIND THAT MY AIWA WILL COVER MANY OTHER SIMILAR SET UPS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE , I DID WANT TO JUST POINT THIS OUT , THANK YOU .
Please note that i do tend to use " Very Good Condition " for most of my records , although none are heavily scratched etc and most will just have some general light surface marks only . The only exception to this is if the record does have scratches and lots of marks etc but is very rare and collectable and will be described in great detail . I never use " Mint " or " Near Mint " unless the record is unopened from it's original shrink wrap and is clearly unplayed . Even with these i am wary because if the record has been stored for years in maybe a damp garage or loft etc and has not been opened , then we can only presume it should be mint because we obviously can't actually see the record . Everyone obviously has their own opinions as to what is very good and excellent , but in my case , i tend to think that most , if not all records do have marks to some degree ( lots even from new ! ) purely because they are vinyl and mark easy and have been used over a considerable amount of time in most cases . This is why i use Very Good most of the times . This is also why i do go into great detail with my descriptions , as the term " Very Good " can be a bit vague . I do use " Excellent Condition " sometimes , but in my case , i would class this as not played very much at all , excellent shine and just a handful of the very lightest and small surface hairline marks only , most only being visible under a light , so you know that when i use excellent , i really do mean excellent . Lots of my records as you can see by my feedback are better than described , more better than very good and closer to near ( if not ) excellent and i do pride myself on this fact , this is why i do use mainly " Very Good " but with very detailed descriptions also of which i will say i can go a little OTT with noise and general condition and can often make a record sound bad when it really isn't , i do just try my best to say how it is , but as i say please do check my feedback and you will see you can bid with confidence , thank you .

Paul Evans Sings The Fabulous Teens LP 1960 Pro Cleaned See Details . On UK London Plum / Silver Print Labels HA-L 2248 Mono . This one has the scalloped laminated flipbacks on the rear and is date coded 4-60 .
COVER: Laminated ( front and scalloped rear flipbacks only ) cover in a very very strong very good / near excellent condition and still generally nice and clean ( near spotless on the front ) , would have easily been near excellent but for a bit of foxing etc on the rear but still overall this cover really is a very nice example and certainly still one of the best i have seen a very long time .
FRONT: Very nice and clean , near spotless and still retains a lovely glossy sheen overall . A very few usual but very light and small surface laminate crease lines in places round the outer edges and just a couple of other very light ones towards the opening edge , there is just the very slightest bit of laminate lift on the left hand side edge tight onto the very outer edge . A very very very few ( hardly any ) extremely light and very small general surface marks in places , mainly just a very very very few usual but very light and fine hairlines in places and a small cluster of what look like very small tick like hairlines near the centre , i think these are probably extremely light impressions from a ball point pen caused from writing on top of the cover , but i must stress that these are just very very light impressions only and are only more visible when held at certain angles to the light . There are the usual but generally for it's age , very light only ringwear marks with just a light dent line impression of the outer edge of the record mainly slightly more prominent but still light towards the corners and just the faintest bit of rubbing from the label section of the record though this very faint bit of rubbing on the label section really is barely visible at all . A really very nice front cover and still in fantastic overall shape .
TOP / BOTTOM / LEFT HAND SIDE MAIN EDGES: ( Not Including Corners And Right Next To Corners Please See Corner Description ) . TOP EDGE: No obvious signs of rub wear at all on the laminated part . BOTTOM EDGE: Mostly the same with just a couple of very small bits of extremely light rub wear and a couple of tiny laminate knicks , though this still really isn't obvious at all when looking directly at the edge . LEFT HAND SIDE EDGE: Normally obviously the spine edge , but these flimsy thin card covers of the time had all of the text printed on the rear and there was no actual spine . This edge again is mainly the same as the bottom main edge descriptions with just another couple of tiny laminate knicks towards the one end , still barely noticeable when looking directly at the edge .
MAIN SPINE EDGE: N/A .
OPENING EDGES: Notoriously wear prone edges but these really are still in great shape with really mainly just a few very light and small bits of denting / very light wear in places mainly only visible on the inside , there is no really heavy fraying and there is just a small bit of very slightly heavier rubbing / very light fraying just below and just above the right hand side corners on the fold back part where the cover was glued when put together , there are no tears and both sides are still generally nice and straight and pretty much quite close together with just a slight bit of gapping present .
CORNERS: Some usual but very light and very small bits of fray / dent wear on the corners , virtually all being confined to the tip ends , slightly more fraying ( but still generally light ) on the bottom right corner where there is a tiny bit of laminate missing , this though is still pretty much on the tip end , i have tried to show this in the photos but i think it looks a bit worse than it actually is because i did try to show it close up , there is a very little bit of very light denting etc but this really is very small indeed and very tight into the corners very close to the tip ends .
REAR: Still in very good shape overall ,as i say it would have easily been closer to near excellent but there is some light age related foxing / light quite pale browning spots present . A very few other bits of very light surface / handling marks in places and just one very small very very very light and very very fine hairline mark towards the top right corner ( extremely light indeed ) , but these really are very very light and small only and anything really is just the light foxing / pale browning spots , again i have tried to show this in the photos . A few usual but very light laminate surface crease lines in places round the outer edges on the laminate edge and on the laminated flipbacks . There are the usual but light only bits of age related grubiness on the very outer edges of the laminate on the flipbacks . There are just two or three extremely light very very soft dents in places , but these really are very very light indeed . There are the usual but amazingly very light ringwear marks with just a very light impression of the outer edge of the record , a couple of very slightly darker bits of browning ( but still generally light only ) in places on this very light impression from the outer edge of the record . As i say , this cover really is in great shape , a notoriously wear prone thin card cover , but i think this one overall is still a very nice example and bar the bit of age related light bits of pale browning etc on the rear , still one of the overall best examples i have seen in a very long time , rarely come up in this overall very nice condition ! .
INNER SLEEVE: Printed on one side ( pale grey / pale lilac tinged coloured print ) poly lined inner sleeve in near excellent overall condition . A very few light and small general surface / handling marks in places , mainly handling marks along the top opening edges and there are some very light bits of age related foxing / very light browning , mainly round and just very near to the edges . The usual but generally very light ringwear marks and just a mainly very very few very light creases / dents in places , i say mainly , as there are a couple of still light but slightly more prominent crease on the bottom edge , there are the usual but only very slightly more prominent creases / dents caused by the outer edge of the record near mainly the bottom corners . Some light only normal useage wear on the top opening edges ( mainly very light dent spots in places ) and a very little on the side edges and corners and the one top corner on the tip only has folded back , but this is just on the very end on the one top corner . I can't confirm if this is the original inner sleeve , but it is consistent with the time period and label make .
LABELS: London plum / silver print paper labels in excellent condition . Very nice and clean with just a very very very few extremely light and very small usual spindle marks ( really hardly any ) . Both labels are writing free .
RECORD: The overall visual grade under normal average household light conditions is a very strong near excellent condition on the playing surface , though i think most would say airing closer to the excellent side overall with just a very very few usual but extremely light and very very fine hairline surface marks on both sides and just a couple of other only very slightly more visible but still very very light and small non feelable non sounding surface marks in places , most ( in fact close to virtually all ) of the finer hairlines i will say are also only more visible when held at certain angles to or under a light , there are no nasty deep gouges / nasty deep scratches etc whatsoever . I will say that there is what appears to be a line which runs round the blank run off just before the actual very end of the run off on both sides , they do appear to be done as part of the manufacturing process and to me appear to be machine done but obviously i can't confirm this in saying this , they can be felt , it passes through the line on both sides with just a brief quite loud noise as it passes through it , i must admit i am at a loss to know what this line is . As i don't know what they are and because of the noise , to be sure , all i did in the end on my second testing was to just take the arm off when the record had finished and before it reached the line and again to be sure i would also recommend this action if you are unsure , actually i doubt most people would have even mentioned them , but as you know , i do like to be thorough with all my descriptions , i have shown this in the last photo so you can see exactly what i mean . Obviously this had no affect on the music playback at all as it is just on the run offs .
AUDIO A SIDE: It plays beautifully crisp and clear throughout on the music playback with amazingly hardly any ( if any ) obvious noise that was worthy of mention , there was no nasty crackle and no nasty loud ticks at all , in fact all i heard was just one very faint isolated tick just after the start on T1 and an extremely faint very very very brief ( really barely heard ) bit of background noise only on the intro of T1 and maybe in just a couple of other places on quieter parts only , but again any of this was ultra ultra brief isolated and really barely heard at all and really hardly worth a mention , but i do like to be thorough with all my descriptions . There were just a very very very few of the usual but faintest odd isolated pop in places on some quieter parts only on the music , but again really barely heard . Actually a very great deal of this side does play close to virtually noise free on the music ! . There are obviously some usual and often louder noises heard on the silent run ins/offs and silent track changeover lines , though i must say that even most ( close to virtually all ) of the silent changeover lines were very very quiet indeed . This side on the music really does play and sound fantastic and the audio tones are still awesome . There were no jumps etc when tested on my deck and it still retains a very nice shine . I really can't stress enough how good this side plays and sounds on the music .
AUDIO B SIDE: It plays beautifully crisp and clear throughout on the music playback with amazingly again really no obvious noise worthy of note , there was no nasty crackle and no nasty ticks , in fact all i heard was maybe a very very very few usual but ultra faint odd isolated pops in places on some quieter parts , there may have been the odd couple of bits of the ultra faintest mega mega briefest bit of background only noise again on a couple of the quieter parts , though this really wasn't worthy of any note , barely heard at all and ultra brief background only , i really am talking blink and you miss it ! .There are obviously some usual and often louder noises heard on the silent run ins/offs and silent track changeover lines , though i must say that even most ( close to virtually all ) of the silent changeover lines were very very quiet indeed , many again even being close to noise free ! .This side again on the music really does play and sound fantastic and the audio tones are still awesome . There were no jumps etc when tested on my deck and it still retains a nice shine . Again i really can't stress enough how good this side plays and sounds on the music ! .
All in all a very nice overall example of this now very collectable and rare item together with superb overall sound , do turn this one up and enjoy ! . Thank you very much for your time and interest and happy bidding . Please do read the following ref record gradings explained thank you .
Near Excellent: ( visual description of the playing surface ) . The playing surface of the record shows that it has obviously been played but shows only light signs of this , a few of the lightest non feelable surface marks being mostly very fine hairlines will be present , but it displays no deterioration in sound quality at all . Some brief very light background noise and very occasional usual light pop maybe present in places and would be acceptable on some quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
