Description

An original 1st pressing of McCartney's Debut from 1970. Matrix 2U/2U. Stampers 1-RG/1-RA. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a very 1st issue cover. What are the distinguishing characteristics of the very 1st cover?..Ok, heavier card construction, a sealed opening on the left-side, and down in the bottom-right of the rear it states "Gramophone Company / Hayes". Also included is the original white patent number inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks, nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly  EXCELLENT+ level of playback with deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio delivered from this genuine early 1st press is stunning - lovely transparency and detail. However, we are detecting a few crackles in the 1st track of each side [e.g. Lovely Linda]. Nothing invasive, but audible all the same. Thankfully the remaining 12 tracks play back very clean - with barely anything more than a couple of crackles. A great rendition of this true 1st issue.
Cover (Ex+) In great shape and has clearly been carefully looked after down the years. Lovely shiny front and back with maybe two small creases evident. No signs of ageing or warping at all. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Vg+) No splits a bit of staining in the odd place.
