Description

Well, well. If one were to collect “Ram” as a category this pressing would likely be key (excluding that elusive dedicated mono mix of coarse). Here we have a truly rare and very limited pressing from New Zealand. Limited not in a calculated way like only 500 numbered pressings but in a true collector way as a very small number pressed unintentionally. As I’ve been informed it kinda went like this; George’s All Things Must Pass had designed orange Apple labels for its’ release in New Zealand just as it did all over the world. When the pressing plant went to work on this issue of RAM, around the same time, they assumed that the orange Apple labels were meant for all Apple Records’ releases of the period and “clang-pop” you have RAM with orange labels (and unsliced like many releases were purposely done that way around the world, got that part right). So there you go. A true and unintentionally pressed rarity of this classic, post Beatle-early Paul staple.

Condition wise the vinyl plays beautifully, a really nice mix can be appreciated. The cover shows very little wear. As with most New Zealand pressings of the period the construction isn’t as heavy as a US cover but very clean and no marks or splits (please see provided photos for your condition concerns).

On a side note I want to mention the rather high opening bid price. I know this type of release is for a collector of rare worldwide Beatle pressings and many collectors might question the value of a pressing like this. For me, I dropped a ton of trade to acquire this pressing having searched it out for several years. I’ve only seen it offered two times in the past with the last one being five years ago, or so, and that one sold for around $200. The one offered here is in better condition, by far, if I remember correctly. Anyone I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with, since I’ve started to pass on my collection, knows that I try to keep the money part of the process equal with the joy of knowing I’ve made someone very happy to possess these records I’ve managed to secure. I can’t stand when a description tries to sell me on something I already know so my apologies if I’m coming off that way and if it seems that I’ve asked to high a price to kick things off I guess I’ll know by next week. Damn, this is one very, very rare and unique record that needs to find the right owner. Hey Paul, you listening?

PS: If you have interest in this “RAM” I’ve listed several other “RAMS” from around the world in my other auctions tonight. Just want to help all my Rams find a good home.

Selling a big part of my personal collection accrued over 5 decades. Will be listing a few auctions a week. Many very rare BEATLES and related items among other artists. Please check in from time to time and see what Rarities and odd pressing I’ve listed from this extensive collection.

The small print: Unfortunately I’ve been getting winning bidders who have no intention of paying for their won items. I must request that payment be made within 48 hours of the auction ending or at least send a simple and brief note letting me know that your payment will be made when able. I’m very flexible in that regard and I just want to know I have a sincere winner. Thank you for your understanding.

International bidders are welcome at this auction but please wait for an invoice after the auction ends. If you’re outside the US I can get you an exact cost of what it will be to get it to wherever you live but as I’m sure you’re aware these cost can be very different depending on where it lands. Thank you
