Soft-spoken and delicate, McCartney's compositions are touching in their simplicity. Layers of tone and color wash through in graceful waves. Strings and muted horns create a warm and regal mood.
In the liner notes, McCartney writes about the inspiration and theory behind his compositions. Much of it is dedicated to the memory of his wife, Linda, such as a string quartet version of the Beatles' "Maybe I'm Amazed." But it is the music itself that will leave listeners satisfied.
