Revelation 32 — stereo LP, private pressing Condition This LP plays (side 1/2) in EX+/EX condition as played on a sensitive system (Basis turntable, Vector arm, Transfiguration cartridge) with some almost entirely light surface noise during the 1st few minutes of each side with the rest playing with quiet surfaces. A clean glossy LP that when examined close to a bright light source appears (side 1/2) in EX+/VG+ condition with minor surface wear. The album cover is in EX+ condition. Info This scarce private pressing from 1979 features compositions and arrangements by Paul Nash for various ensembles of musicians. The players on each composition differ in number & the instruments used which provides an unusual texture. Nash lead one of the short-lived jazz groups in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1970s whose private recordings are now sought after. Some hot material in this recording, at times Afro Cuban though mostly leaning towards an Avant Garde sound but never fully climbing that mountain. Accessible and very interesting. Excellent sound and check out the textured, nearly 3D gorgeous bass trombone solo on Our Time is Numbered. Mark Isham's trumpet solos certainly have an edge missing from his other recordings. To determine visual grades, LPs are positioned close to a bright light which indicates flaws not noticeable in other lighting conditions. For used LPs, insulation is placed inside boxsets and single LPs are re-sealed to prevent movement. Instead of single-walled mailers, odd-sized albums such as some boxsets ship in a significantly robust double-walled box and with the albums insulated from the inside of the mailer via a type of double boxing. For single LPs, the most robust LP mailers are used. These mailers were selected after rejecting many alternative LP mailers that did not meet critical requirements for rigid protection to the mailer's corners.
