The Music
This album is a unique combination of instruments old and new. Bamboo flutes of many styles and tunings are found in every ancient culture. Their sweet and simple sound, combined with modern electronic synthesized sounds, produce music that is soothing and uplifting.
All of the wind instruments on the album were made by Richard Allen (me). I have made & and sold thousands of instruments since I cut up my first bamboo fishing pole back in 1972. The instruments are: Shakuhachi - an ancient Japanese flute, transverse flute - forerunner to the silver flute, Bamboo Sax - a standard sax reed affixed to a piece of bamboo, and bamboo whistles - recorder like instruments that can sing like birds. Grading/Condition Descriptions - (ALL GRADING IS DONE BY VISUAL INSPECTION, GRADED CONSERVATIVELY SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE):
NM = Near Mint. As close to perfect as you can get, no visible scuffs/scratches. Played only a couple times, at most.
EX = Excellent. Vinyl has only a couple minor surface scuffs, but certainly no scratches. Label has very slight evidence of wear, no writing and sharp coloring. Jacket has no seam splits, no creases, very minor chipping at edges/corners, very minor ring-wear, no writing.
VG+ = Very Good+. Vinyl has a few surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jacket has no seam splits, but has 1-2 small hairline creases and/or minor chipping at edges or bumped corners, possibly a cut-out, some ring-wear, no writing.
VG = Very Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jackethas no seam splits, but has a few hairline creases and/or chipping at edges or bumped corners, moderate ring-wear, no writing.
VG- = Very Good-. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows evidence of wear and/or has small amount of writing. Jacket has small seam split (less than 2” long) or has numerous small creases and/or chipping at edges or bumped corners or small amount of writing, moderate ring-wear.
G = Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs/scratches and probably a ‘feeler’ scratch (as noted in listing). Label shows a lot of wear and/or some writing. Jacket has seam split (less than 6” long) or numerous moderate creases and/or major chipping at edges and corners, water damage/stains, or major writing, or heavy ring-wear.
Shipping and Handling:
All LP’s are securely packaged in a protective shipping mailer/box. The mailers are made of stiff cardboard and I've found them to be very reliable. In order to take advantage of the shipping discounts on multiple purchases, please pay for all items in one transaction.
