Peter Kenneth Frampton (born 1950) is an English-born American rock musician, singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist. He was earlier associated with the bands Humble Pie and The Herd. Frampton's international breakthrough double album was his 1976 live release, Frampton Comes Alive! The album sold more than 8 million copies in the United States alone and 11 million worldwide.

He would go on to great success as a screenwriter & director of such films as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Jerry Maguire and the autobiographical Almost Famous, based on a his career as teenage music journalist on Rolling Stone.
