This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 200g pressing of Peter Gabriel’s fourth record on 4 200g Clarity vinyl 45 RPM records. The 45 RPM set is a complete recording of Classic’s reissue of Peter Gabriel’s fourth record. When I first bought this set new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag. The recording is very spacious and dynamic. There are no scuffs or scratches as far as I can tell (Clarity vinyl has no color so it is hard to see scratches), but each record has various levels of surface noise in the right channel through out most of each side. The surface noise is slightly louder on records 1 and 2 than on 3 and 4 and is mostly noticeable in the quieter passages. The sound of the record is otherwise excellent with very wide dynamics.
I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The records are housed in a large red box. The box has a scratch on the front probably from me sliding it on my shelf. There is a copy of the gatefold jacket with attached sheets which include notes on each song. The jacket is identical to the ones that Classic used for the 33 rpm reissues of Peter Gabriel’s work. Each record is in a U-shaped Japanese style inner sleeve and are not housed in individual jackets. Each record is separated from the others by a layer of bubble wrap. There is also an OBI or band that was around the original box when I bought it. Only side A of each LP is pressed. Side B is blank. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
