Welcome to my auction of an original U.S. 1963 pressing by Phil Spector and his "Wall Of Sound". The wonderful Darlene Love (who later played Danny Glover's wife in the "Lethal Weapon" series of movies) sings the classic "Christmas (Baby please come home)" and 3 other songs.  The Ronettes, led by Ronnie Spector (born Veronica Yvette Bennett) sing "I Saw Mommy Kissin' Santa Claus" and two other songs. Dolores "Lala" Brooks, lead singer of The Crystals sings "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and 2 other songs.

This album has to be one of the most important historic recordings ever made and it's on the American Philles label, the name was derived from the label's founders Phil Spector and Lester Sill. When it was first released over here in England it was really a flop in sales terms because of it's late release before Christmas, however my wife ordered the original British album, released on the London American label and I got it in February 1964! From then on it was sought after by collectors reaching astronomical prices until the early 70's when Polydor released the record with a different artwork on the cover.

This record has been and is played by DJ's all over the world at Christmas time and is likely to be played forever more at this special time of the year.
