Description

Philamore Lincoln: the north wind blew south
Original US pressing on the yellow Epic label from the 60s. The sleeve is in EX condition and the record is in MINT condition.
Completely obscure outside of UK psyche-pop fans, Lincoln made this album in 1969, on which he was assisted by various Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin members. . 'The North Wind Blew South' has a kind of subdued, minor epic quality to it - kind of like what a lot of late 60's/early 70's prog rock would sound like with all of the bombast and pretension drained out.
So the English can do the West Coast thing well! This voice of an angel hipster did a few singles leading up to this album which is a bit patchy in some parts, but once the flutes and vibes start a ringing and his voice starts gently soaring it's hammock between two trees bliss.
