Description
Not certain if this is accurate, but when Samuel Yaffe started
Paraclete Records in the early 1940's, he invited a handful of
world-class pianists to record the very first comprehensive anthology
of the piano works of Russian pianist and composer Alexander
Scriabine. It was a shoestring operation with records pressed in very
low numbers. It is said that the recordings were made in the living
room of a home in East Haven Connecticut.
Offered is 78rpm Paraclete 4, the A side played by Professor Vladimir
Drosdoff "Op. 8, No. 12."
On the reverse, Samuel Yaffe plays "Op. 11, No 11, and Op. 32, No 2."
The record is in excellent (E) condition with light surface scuffs.
