Picture Disc Of The World Book and Price Guide by Joe Lindsay (VERY VERY RARE) plus SIGNED letter from author
This is a first edition, who knows probably the only edition, of this highly informative book on picture disc. I have owned this book since January 1996. The condition of this book though listed as used is in extremely nice condition. Book is still very clean with no rabbit ears or writing on pages. I did notice a small stain on one page while checking the book's condition (see pics). Pictures of book were taken to show just how well condition is. Took close ups of minor flaws due to normal use, but nothing major. Also took a few pictures of inside book to give a sampling of the type of information given.
I was a huge picture disc collector growing up, but now with age my collector interest have changed and I feel that this book should be in the hands of someone who will appreciate it as much as I have. I will truly miss it when it goes for this book has been a great source of information to me and because of it, it has allowed me to acquire very limited and rare picture disc that others thought had very little value. Even now I use this book to help me find a great deal on picture disc that others price cheap or just do not know what they have. Prices listed in the book were for the time it was published and were very conservative at the time. Since then some prices have come down, while most have gone up, way up in some cases. In the over 16 years I have been on ebay I have never seen a copy of this book for sale, that is how rare this is. Die hard picture disc collectors will know what I am talking about. If needed I can send more pictures.
I purchased this book directly from the author himself and have a letter he wrote me regarding the purchase of this book. In the letter dated 12-26-1995 he says that he only has 15 copies left and that he was going to be running an ad in Goldmine magazine (anyone remember that?) and that he expected them to sell out. The letter which is signed by the author will be included in the sale of this book. The book has a nice glossy cover with the inner pages having a semi-gloss feel to them. Overall the book is of high quality. The purchaser of this book will not be disappointed in it's look and feel. The book has black and white pictures, as well as some in color. It covers the years between 1923 to1989 and has sections on different manufactures such as Vogue, RCA, Playola Records, Victor and Record Guild of America just to name a few.
