ARTIST - PIERRE MONTEUX TITLE - STRAVINSKY - PETROUCHKA LABEL - RCA CATALOG NO - LSC-2376
Picture this, you're a radio DJ in 1960 when this record comes to your station. Stamped with "For Demonstration Purposes Only" so you know it's a free listen. You have designs to listen to it one slow night and ultimately put it away and forget about it. Flash forward a few years and it's time to retire. You take a few LP's with you that your boss so kindly allows. You find this nugget deep in the collection and one night you play it once on your high grade audio equipment. It sounds beautiful. You decide to put it away and not play it again as you're afraid to scratch it. You then pass it down through the years to family members when one audiophile collector with the same taste as you decides to preserve it as well.
It could have gone like this or a million other ways. Bottom line is we have a mint minus shaded dog LP with 1S/1S stamped in the dead wax. Cover is excellent...well preserved. Comes from an audiophiles collection. Also has an insert with a Pierre Monteux bio that I think is from a later album, but that will be tossed in as well. Thanks for looking.
