About This Record. This is a relatively rare Capitol promo sampler, entitled 'The New Spirit of Caitol.' It is sealed, but has the big drill hole in the cover. What else makes this really cool is that it contains an abridged version of a Pink Floyd song (Astronomy Domine) in a 4:10 version that is unavailable elsewhere. It turns up from time to time trashed; found this sealed copy in my collection after a lucky trade for a mint copy. Why open this one; someone might want it sealed!

Cover Condition. The cover is sealed with the large drill hole. See scans. No detectable damage besides the drill hole (not even rounded corners), other than that the shrink is ripped at the bottom of the middle bottom seam. Yes, it is a gatefold unopened cover.

Vinyl Condition. Sealed. But the record will be the green Capitol label; the picture of the label (see scans) is from a copy in my personal collection. This is a really good Capitol Records compilation, with lots of psych, fuzz, folk and rock garage type stuff. But remember the large drill hole. The shrink was put over this AFTER the hole was punched as there is no hole in the shrink. But I am confident this is an original as it has been in my collection for more than 20 years.

Grading Vinyl. I use modified Goldmine grading standards. Mint/NM/VG+/VG/VG-/G+/G. On rare occasions I may use VG++. I DO NOT use the EX grade! My VG+ is EX to EX+, and my VG is EX-. I grade conservatively; look at my feedback! I play grade my vinyl with an MC Ruby 3 Micro Benz cartridge. I do not alter the records, covers, or labels with pens, tape, glue or other stuff. When I notice such damage, I point it out in detail!
