This is a Pink Floyd Animals First Pressing vinyl MISMATCHED with a Pink Floyd Animals Second Pressing cover with a barcode. I had multiple copies of this LP and somehow they got mismatched over the years.
THERE ARE SURFACE MARKS THAT WILL CAUSE SURFACE NOISE AND POPS & CLICKS THAT ARE TYPICAL WITH A GOOD+ GRADING.And there is MODERATE to HEAVY WEAR TO THE COVER WITH PEELING / FADING ON THE SEAMS & SPINE, THERE ARE CREASES & CRUMPLES, SOME STAINING, and RING WEAR.
If any of these issues are a concern for you please do not buy it.
AS A BONUS I HAVE INCLUDED A Black & White PHOTOCOPY OF THE ORIGINAL HYPE STICKER. I like to add a PHOTOCOPY of the hype sticker, if I have it, as an added bonus as they are usually discarded and are hard to find.
PLAY TESTED! I recently played this LP and it SOUNDS AWESOME, especially cranked up! But you will hear surface noise typical with a Good+ grading.
In reality, there is no difference between the 1st Press Vinyl and the 2nd Press Vinyl, except that the matrix numbers are stamped in the deadwax on the 1st press and the matrix numbers are etched or written in the deadwax on the 2nd press.
And there is no difference between the 1st Press Cover and the 2nd Press Cover except that the there is a barcode on the rear cover of the 2nd press.
Up for sale is one (1) Pink Floyd - Animals LP from 1977 on Columbia Records (#JC 34474).
The Vinyl is in Good+ condition but has some visual surface marks that will cause surface noise typical with a Good+ grading. Even with a Good+ grading there is going to be a certain amount of surface noise. More noticible during the quiet parts.
Nice, fairly clean labels with some spindle marks.
The gatefold cover is in Good+ condition with typical to heavy wear from age, including, but not limited to corner dings, scrapes, crumples, ring wear and fading. THERE ARE NO SPLIT SEAMS. There is some staining of an unknown origin.
Even though there are some minor flaws, I'm still grading this cover as Good+ as it is still structurally sound.
This cover typically does not age well, but this one is in GOOD+ shape(especially for this cover).
DEAD WAX INFO:
Matrix / Runout Side A Etched: AL 34474-2E (stamped in the deadwax)
Matrix / Runout Side B Etched: BL 34474-2B (stamped in the deadwax)
The custom inner lyric sleeve is in Good+ condition with fading, dings, crumples, ring wear and typical wear from age. There are no split seams.
I obtained this LP in the 1970s or 1980s. It was gently played many times back in the day. I haven't played this LP in over 30 years. It has been in storage ever since.
