Pink Floyd / Animals /1st Issue 1977 / SHVL-815 A-2U / B-4U / Vinyl is Nr Mint and Sleeve/Inners are VG+.
Condition is "Used".
Dispatched with Royal Mail tracked or a reputable tracked courier. Loss/damage insurance included at no extra cost- for added protection and peace of mind.
Right folks I bought this as a youngster back in 1977 very shortly after it was released- not quite upon official release day as I did not have enough pocket money saved up- hence it is a 1st Issue 3rd variant- well it is according to the official Pink Floyd Archives that I have just checked with.
Obviously it has NO "barcode" - well it just wouldn't would it ! It has the wide spine, thick cardboard cover with the front edge of the gatefold sealed with a foldunder.
Black cardboard inner sleeve with lyrics on. Round corners and a 9" notch on the edge that opens. In lower right corner is the catalogue number "SHVL 815(1)" Yes sir all present and correct.
Labels should be picture labels- again - yes.
The vinyl is in lovely immaculate condition, having just been professionally wet cleaned, it has no surface marks and plays wonderfully- well it sounds brilliant to me on my Rega P7. A very dynamic recording with no scratches or faults to the ear or eye. It sounds truly marvelous, don't you love the use of my audio/technical language, I'll make it on the Steve Hoffman website yet !
The outer sleeve has a few light scuffs as you can see on the photos above, nothing unsightly, just slight wear to mainly top outer edge as shown. The inside of the gatefold is excellent as is the inner lyric sleeve. So because of the slight wear to the outer top I am grading it has VG+. You will not be disappointed, well I really hope not but one never knows ?!?!
Lets put it this way- compared to some of the old tat and junk my daughter has just received from another "well known " Audiophile/Collectors auction site (not ebay obviously) my descriptions are very cautious and conservative ( with a very small "c"). The "stuff" she has bought that was listed as "near mint" I wouldn't even dare try to sell them. So I think the use of actual item photographs really does assist you greatly - compared to this other un-named site.
Owned by me since 1977 and one of my many classic rock vinyl albums that will now start to appear over the next few weeks, months and years. Hope they are of interest to some of you ?
