Description
An original 1st press of Animals on the UK Harvest label. Matrix 2/2. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original wide-spine gatefold cover. Also included is the original thick-card lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, and a couple of superficial scuff marks - nothing heavy or obvious. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. By and large a very nice player, perhaps not quite clean enough to hit the top grades. But most certainly an enjoyable and sufficiently clean enough copy to deliver Animals to full effect. Expect a few static crackles in a couple of passages per side - it tends to be in the quietest sections. Nothing upfront, or really distracting - it's mostly just a bit of back ground type stuff. The deviations are a couple of ticks during track 1 & track 2 [side 2]..very minor - no big deal. And then in the intro to side 1 there's a tiny mark which causes a few light ticks over the acoustic strumming right at the start. By the time the 2nd line of the vocal starts - the tick fades out. So, it doesn't really intrude all that much - and is over relatively quickly.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. A really clean front and back with very little signs of wear - this is unusual and you certainly do see many this well preserved. The interior looks smart with very little signs of handling. Edge wear is very light and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in great condition with minimal wear and all text visible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) One c.m. of bottom edge wear. No splits though.
